All of a sudden it is the second decade of the new century. Where the Hell did that come from? I was just getting used to the late 90’s. It could almost make me wonder how many more of these pages I will be putting together in future, given the number of my contemporary musical colleagues who have dropped off the proverbial twig lately? Well at least a couple more I hope.
  This recent period has been one of my most productive musically for many years. In the last couple of years I have written, produced or remastered five albums and a couple of videos. Had a new vinyl release of an old Phoenix Rising classic album and I now have a number of other albums in the pipe with a few hopefully appearing in the next twelve months. With a bit of luck we should also have a gigging band on the road this year. I have just released the latest Pig’n’aif album ‘Pig’n’aif Blue’ to support this band. Fingers crossed.
I think I’ll need a holiday first though.
  My most recent album of original material was
‘The Jester... Thinks...’ recorded under the Pig’n’aif banner and released on the Rising Records label. There is are sample tracks together with a video nasty from the album on the Discography and Video pages. This album brought together some overdue material as well as some new outings and drew a line under a number of items that had been on the drawing board for a long time. It’s completion allowed me to move on with a lot of new things.
 The recent project band called ChinWig is now on the back burner. It gave me a chance to work with my son Krys for which I am eternally grateful as it was a joy at times. I may revisit that project later but would need to be sure of the foundations. My gear has germinated still further over the last few years (of course) with the addition of rack mounted Mesa Boogie TriAxis and Simul Class 2:NInety valve amps. I use these with Palmer load DI boxes and Impulse models of my stage rig on the second channel of the TriAxis output.  The second channel of my power amp is used on the Axon Guitar Synth setup. The whole thing is incredibly versatile but I still use my Orange rig occasionally (especially for live blues based stuff) just for sheer simplicity and fun.
I refurbished my custom V at the end of last year and built in a GK synth pickup. Now that has a beautiful powerful character all of its own and is a joy to play
live. Looks good as well eh? I still use a Variax alongside the others for a bit of variation.
Maybe I’ll finish that novel this year? I’d like to see how that turns out.
